Laura Darlington is a visual artist and musician based in her hometown of Los Angeles.

She has exhibited and performed internationally at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), Today Art Museum (Beijing), 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and Guggenheim House (Japan), São Paulo Museum of Art (Brazil), and locally at Human Resources, Armory Center for the Arts, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, and Santa Monica Camera Obscura Art Lab, among many others.

Darlington’s work has been featured by media outlets including The Creators Project (VICE + Intel), Billboard Magazine, The FADER, URB Magazine, the BBC, and National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.

She has organized female-focused arts + tech group exhibitions with co-curator Selwa Sweidan at venues such as NAVEL and the Brand Library & Art Center. Musical collaborators include Flying Lotus, Cut Chemist, and Daedelus, with whom Darlington duets as The Long Lost, as well as the UCLA Bulgarian women’s choir Superdevoiche under the direction of Tzvetanka Varimezova.

After studying at Smith College and Otis College of Art & Design, she worked as a studio assistant to several artists, including Alexis Smith and June Wayne, and served as the Interim Director of the Museum of Neon Art (MONA). Darlington holds an MLIS from San José State University and is currently the Exhibitions Coordinator for the Margaret Herrick Library at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
